How To Make Dog Toys

Dogs absolutely love playing with toys and there are hundreds of different kinds on the market today. Did you know you could just as easily make your own dog toys for your dog and also for sale? Even if you have never even attempted something like toy making, this is a pretty simple procedure with a little trial and error. Dogs won't judge your creations too harshly so you are free to experiment in many different areas.

Many home made dog toys you can make by just using common sense. If your dog loves tennis balls and socks, simply combine the two. Throw an old tennis ball into an old tube sock and if you feel like it, draw a little face on it. Tie the end in a sturdy knot and you have a toy that could become your dogs favorite. If your dog loves to tug on things, take some old rope, tie the ends in knots and burn the frayed edges off and you have an instant classic. Many times, you can turn garbage into gold in this way.

If you have a sewing machine or enjoy sewing by hand, you have almost unlimited options at your disposal. You can order a bulk package of small rubber squeakers and sew them into any kind of design you can imagine. You can make squeaky fabric discs, animals, bones, or just about anything else.

All dogs love treats and some easy dog toys you can make yourself are based around food. An easy one is to simply take a toilet paper tube, seal one end with tape or paper, then stuff some beef jerky and some basic dog kibbles. Seal the other end and toss it outside. Your dog will love the sound it makes and will be able to smell the goodies inside. This is a type of educational toy because it encourages your dog to problem solve. Some dogs will bite a small hole in them and roll it around while other dogs may eat the entire thing. Either way, they are using their brains to find a solution to a fun problem.
