Cat Remote Toys

Cats love to chase after things and you may get tired of pulling a string along the floor or waving a stick around that has a ribbon on the end of it. Cat toy technology borrows heavily from kids toys and some of the most fun toys around are remote control cat toys. These can be in many forms but the most common is a simple, small remote control mouse. If your kids stop playing with their smaller remote control toys, you can also fashion your own cat toys out of them.

Many stores sell the basic remote controlled mouse which is a lot of fun to play with and your cat will go crazy chasing it all around. Most of these have very small wheels so the cat can't bite them off and choke on them so they don't work well on carpet. If you have a tiled area or hardwood floors, you can zoom that mouse almost anywhere. Many cats realize the mouse stops running if they attack it so they will promptly set it back down or make sure it stays upright so they can continue the chase. If they flip it over or run off with it, you will have to retrieve it yourself and set it back up.

If your local stores don't sell these remote control mice and you don't want to wait for one to be shipped from you, you can procure one of your kids little remote control cars or go buy one. You can find some that are only a couple of inches long and are pretty fast and all you will need to do is fashion a fabric or knitted covering for it if you want to. Many cats don't care and are just as happy chasing a little car around the room anyway. They sell small remote control helicopters also but these tend to scare cats so it's best to stick to small vehicles.

Pet shops should carry these toys but if they don't, you might have to shop around on the Internet for them. They are fairly inexpensive and well worth the investment. You can whip a lazy cat into shape pretty quickly with a nice remote control cat toy.
